Why Wagyu?

Wagyu beef, known around the world for its superior quality, is a steakhouse headliner. But great beef shoudn’t just be for steakhouses. We want you to be able to enjoy these wonderful cuts of meat in your own home. Whether it’s Wednesday night supper or a weekend get-together with friends and family, you deserve melt in your mouth beef. And it most certainly does! Wagyu has high levels of intra- muscular fat, known as marbling, and it is in fact Wagyu’s signature feature. The melting point of this fat is lower than the human body temperature, which makes it actually melt in your mouth. Best of all, it’s not only delicious, it is good for you. Wagyu has a higher concentration of the good fats, Omega-3 and Omega-6, as well as conjugated linoleic acid, a naturally occurring fatty acid which is a popular dietary supplement. But why our Wagyu? Because we raise our beef with care and thoughtfulness to eat in our home. And now yours.

About Us

Tucked away in lush valleys of west coast Newfoundland our families have been farming for over fifty years. The wind blows strong off of the long-range mountains and sometimes bites up over the gulf, but here on the edge of red cliffs that line the shores the passion for farming runs deep. In the early days, our farms encompassed everything from vegetables, poultry, hogs, and dairy. Over time, dairy farming became more than just a few cows and a few litres of milk. Today we primarily raise dairy cows, produce milk, and grow our own forages on the very lands cleared all those years ago. And while farming is a labour of love, we enjoy taking pause to share a hearty meal with family and friends around the table. This love for wholesome food led us to raising premium beef cows. Now we are sharing this passion with you.
